I'm seriously so in love with this camera. So. In. Love. I mean, blueberries and bananas and dates are good, but what would they be - all blended together - without a beautiful picture to capture the creamy, sweet deliciousness?
In an attempt to break my nice cream addiction, I'm now forcing myself to make smoothies more often. Maybe "forcing" is the wrong word, because like I said before, smoothies are yummy and creamy and sweet, but for some reason I just can't get over the idea of eating "ice cream" errrrrday for breakfast. Errrrday. Can you? Didn't think so.
What's great about smoothies is that -
- they don't usually take as long as nice cream
- they're much more hydrating and variable when it comes to fruit additions
- they fit perfectly into a jar and are always ready to head out the door with you
Oh, and if for any reason you're not sure about this smoothie, keep in mind that I sacrificed eating two of the juiciest, carmeliest medjools to throw in for some refined-sugar-free sweetness. You're welcome ;)
Makes 1 smoothie
2 bananas (frozen or room temp)
2/3 cup frozen blueberries
1 bunch of spinach
1 scoop plant-based protein powder
2 medjool dates
water, to blend
- Peel the bananas, open the bag of bluebs, rip the spinach stems off, pit the dates, toss it all in a blender.
- Blend. Drink.
